After eight-plus years of chasing and multiple attempts at purchasing, this old farmhouse is finally ours, or soon to be (after closing)! Today is a mixture of excitement and sheer terror.
In this blog, we’ll document our journey and as much history as we can uncover related to this ~1884 Italianate Farmhouse. It’ll be a long couple of years as we stabilize the structure and restore, update, and repair the interior. Our goal isn’t to restore this home from a historical perspective but rather to honor its character, charm, and historical bits while updating to make livable by today’s standards; an effort started by the previous owner. Ultimately, our goal is to ensure it lasts and serves families to come for another 140 years.
